For all those of you that are new to Neopets, this section is for YOU. These are some valuable tips and bits of advice that will help you get acquainted with your newly found surroundings and teach you how to advance in the world of NEOPIA.

First of all, you need to obtain a pet. Your allowed 4, but I recommend starting with one till you get familiar with your new world. Next, feed your pet. You can use the Soup Kitchen for free as long as you do not exceed 2000np. After you have exceeded 2000np, use your daily free Jelly and Giant Omelette to feed your pet. You should never have to buy food.

Get familiar with and run through your Dailies.....well daily!  Great way to obtain more food to feed your pets, get some extra neopoints, some great items to sell in your shop for profit and maybe a surprise or 2 will grace you along the way.

Open up a shop! This is a good way to store your items you don't want and you can later sell for neopoints. Use the Shop Wizard to determine the current market value. When you receive items they immediately go to your inventory. You may want to store your items either in your safe deposit box or your shop, otherwise ghosts and other creatures will come along and steal them from you. So be careful.

ACCOUNTS: You can have up to 5 accounts , this includes your main account. Your main account is the only one your allowed to earn np with. The other 4 can be used as galleries or house additional pets. However, its forbidden to do dailies, play games, participate in neopian events, etc. Don't chance it and lose your account.

Play Games!!! Cheat & Pyramids are great beginner games. Check out the Featured Game as its worth double NP's!

NEOPOINTS:  This your main source of accomplishing anything around Neopia, outside pure skill that is. It is otherwise known as Neopia's currency. Neopoints=np. You will need them to play certain games, to buy many kinds of items for a variety of reasons. Win auctions, make offers on the trading post and upgrade your shop or gallery to hold more items. You gain np thru games, selling items in your shop, sometimes you'll receive them as prizes for various reasons, trades and best of all, randomly. Oh I LOVE that!!! They literally fall from the sky!!!

 Open up a bank account.  Collect your interest everyday. You can do so after midnight NST (Neopian Standard Time, same as PST) each night. As your balance grows, upgrade your account and you will earn more interest everyday. The great thing about this is, once you reach a certain level you never lose it. Even if you turn around and spend all your nps, you keep the same bank level and earn a higher interest regardless of your balance. Super cool, huh!!! IMPORTANT!!! Don't leave too many out for use. Keeps them safe and you can take out more as you need them.  Ghosts and neopian creatures can & will  steal your money. Again! Be Careful.

NEVER CHEAT!! You'll risk losing your account or getting it frozen. Nothing is worth that.  So don't chance it.

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS!!! Otherwise known as the rot-gut evildoer's of Neopia. Wish I could tell you there is no crime or ugliness here, but its just not true. Even though this is a game and for fun, there are those out there that will take advantage of you with every chance they get. Their gain is at your expense. Trust no one. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. Be smart. Educate yourself.  Know the true worth of items and use only the trading post for trades. Never ever, ever, ever give out your password to anyone. TNT will never ask you for it. No matter how nice someone seems. Always protect yourself.
